American Food

I know that our blog has a limited fan base. I accept that. It's a young blog on the rise. However, I am calling out to all my readers out there on this one.

Within my group at work, we have monthly dinners to taste the cuisine of the various members. So far, we have had Cypriot, Japanese, and Portuguese. Scottish is on the plate for January, and I am in charge of dinner in February. I have considered a Sports Bar for the Super Bowl (Feb 7), but the time difference might make that a no go.

So here is my question:

What is American food to you?

  1. just put a bowl of fat out there.

really, though, i think you should show a typical fourth of july. get some burgers & dogs, potato salad, etc.

i'll keep thinking, but that is my first thought on "american" food. if all else, go tex-mex since you are both texans.

  3. The 4th of July idea sounds like a winner...but you know us Bings are always partial to BBQ!

  4. Dang. All that sounds delicious! Good suggestions. I'll have to see if I can find a restaurant that serves something along those lines.

  6. I would make Kelli's pulled pork or AK's chicken pot pie. Those two are decidedly Americana and are relatively easy to make.
